A pontoon bridge permits land units to cross small, shallow bodies of water.

Once Engineering has been an embarked worker can build a pontoon bridge on a coastal tile that is adjacent to two or more land tiles (if adjacent to two or three land tiles, the land tiles may not be contiguous). The worker is consumed in the process of building the pontoon bridge (like Workboats building oil rigs and fishing boats, but unlike the Samurai building fishing boats)

The pontoon bridge includes a road section and costs 1 gold per turn to maintain
